years of research and writing, Don Ernsberger has
produced a two volume regimental history that may
well be the most comphrensive and detailed history of a
Civil War regiment ever created. 1096 pages in length.
353,000 words in detail. Contains 58 photos and maps
as well as
over 170 original letters (almost all of which have
never been published before).
The two volumes trace the Irish roots of the regiment
back to the early 1800's, the formation of the 24th Pa
and the complete wartime history of the 69th. The
volumes include an index of 923 individual soldiers in
the regiment as well as complete tactical detail of the
role the unit played in all of their key battles.
