The Whiskey Island Dog People
In 1998 The 135th Anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg was celebrated at a reenactment. Prior to the event a group of civil war reenactors from Ohio contacted the 69th Pa "Irish Volunteers" and asked to participate in the Irish defense of the wall during Pickett's Charge. This Ohio group became Company H of the 69th Pa that weekend. With that event, a legacy was sown.
In the years since that event a number of individuals from the Cleveland Ohio area have continued to fall in with the 69th at events from Cedar Creek to Pochahontas to Gettysburg. Over time, the number of Ohio reenactors who have participated with the regiment has increased and today they have emerged as a regular contingent of Paddy Owen's Regulars.
