Cathedral Cemetery 2007
Each year the 69th Pa "Irish Volunteers" place gravestones on the final resting places
of men who fought with the regiment. In 2007 three more gravestones were
dedicated. The ceremony involves a reading of biographical information, the placing
of Irish soil and flags and a three gun salute.

mortally wounded at Gettysburg

Farrel McGovern was killed at Gettysburg
on the day after the battle while returning
to Union lines.
