The second 69th Pa "Highways of History" tour traced the irish regiment's actions during the Penisula Campaign of 1862 and the Battle of Antietam. Participants visited sites such as Fort Monroe, Grapevine Bridge, Fair Oaks, Savage Station, Glendale, and Malvern Hill. On Saturday evening they dined and sang at a local Richmond Irish PUB "Poe's Tavern". The next day they followed the path of the 69th Pa to Chantilly and to Sharpsburg, Md. |
