The Sword of Lt. William McNamara
At the Battle of Fredericksburg, 2nd Lt. William McNamara in company I was hit in the left leg by a rebel bullet that exited his leg and damaged his sword. The sword was repaired and used by McNamara for the rest of the war. Today, the sword is owned by a Civil War buff in Los Angeles who was kind enough to provide this website with photographs.
